Order of Christian Initiation of Adults Ministry Team

Who We Are

OCIA team members are people who support and assist non-Catholics preparing to become Catholic, or baptized Catholics seeking to receive the Sacraments. They are an important link to the parish community and a witness to their faith.

How We Minister

Everything we do as catechists helps seekers encounter the mystery of Christ. “The definitive aim of catechesis,” said the pope, “is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ.

Some responsibilities of an OCIA team member include: Attending weekly meetings, Serving as a sponsor, leading small group discussions, and sharing your faith with inquiring adults. As a team member, you have the privilege of teaching our beautiful, rich Catholic faith to those inquiring, while at the same time building upon your own faith formation by benefiting from the teachings of your fellow team members.
