Since the time we were very little, books by Dr. Seuss made us laugh, cry, and think. And, they usually found entertaining ways to make us consider complicated issues with a new lens. Horton Hears a Who is one of those books that introduce us to an Elephant who discovers an entire world—but nobody believes him. But, beyond what this book/movie teaches us about standing up for others, it gives us the famous line “a person is a person—no matter how small.”
Join us this January for our next Youth Group, No Matter How Small where we discuss the dignity of life and our job in protecting it. PLUS, we have a an old school contest where we see who can invent the most creative safety device—and try to avoid cracking some eggs.
Our event will take place at the St. Columba Youth Center in the basement of the St. Columba Parish House (not the church). Just go down the driveway down the big hill behind the parish house to enter through the door into our Center. Our event is open to all 8th-12th graders.
This event fulfills the youth group requirement for the Confirmation Program
