"Hope in the Land of Loss - Trust Your Grieving Heart"
Church of the Holy Family, November 3, 2024, 5:30pm
Lisa Irish, MEd, MA, BCC

Losses weave their way throughout our lives and influence the next path we take. Grief is our built-in response to loss, our ally in traveling the confusing, painful and transformative Land of Loss. This 90 minute program gently supports those with recent loss, offers a lens for long-ago losses, and honors the many ways we experience non-death loss. Current bereavement teaching and spiritual wisdom will affirm that grief is, indeed, a sacred journey. Light desserts will follow the program, Lisa's books will be for sale.

Lisa Irish joins the human race through a life-long quest for healing from early losses, trauma and disenfranchised losses. She is a conscious griever in these times of shared losses in our human experience. Her professional life includes teaching and teacher education, hospital and bereavement chaplaincy, spiritual direction and supervision, author and retreat leader. Of her book, Grieving: the Sacred Art - Hope in the Land of Loss, Richard Rohr says, "The roadmap is wise, but sensitive - grounded in hope - and reminds us to rest in God's healing love."

This event is open to the public, please invite all you know who can benefit from her wisdom. Light Refreshments in the Hall afterwards.

This will coincide with our Church Community All Souls Day Remembrance weekend at all our Masses.
Prior to the guest speaker parishioners are invited to gather in the Church Hall for a Pot Luck Soup Supper and meet Lisa Irish.
